FOCA's Gold-level Sponsors Apply for Association Program Funding REMINDER: Invasive Species - submission deadline Remember to submit your project proposal to FOCA by June 15, 2020! FOCA is working with the Invasive Species Centre (ISC) to continue FOCA's important work around invasive species spread, prevention and awareness. This summer, FOCA seeks participation from a select number of our Member Associations to run projects aimed at addressing aquatic invasive species at the local level. FOCA will provide eligible lake associations with funding and/or resources to carry out these projects. Download information (PDF, 2 pages) including a template for your Project Proposal Outline. Please note: Project eligibility is subject to the appropriate easing of restrictions related to COVID-19, or suitability of the project during physical distancing restrictions. FOCA's Silver-level Sponsors FOCA Membership Fees Reminder The FOCA Annual General Meeting on March 7, 2020 included a vote by members to approve an increase in the FOCA Membership Fees for Associations: The base fee remains at $125; the per member fee increases (from $3.50) to $4.00 per member, effective renewals starting in March 2021. FOCA committed to provide our members with a reminder of this vote, as well as support information such as benchmark association fees, so that members can review with their associations, prior to the March 2021 implementation date. FOCA's Bronze-level Sponsors Coming Soon: FOCA Membership Survey Your FOCA Board of Directors has begun the process to update FOCA's Strategic Plan for the coming years, and we will be asking members for input in a survey later this month. The survey will compile updated information about our member Associations, including demographics about your fees and engagement trends, what you value most (and what else you need) from FOCA, what concerns face your Association this year, and longer-term trends in the top issues at your waterbody. Please review FOCA's current 20/20 Vision, and discuss with your Association who in your organization will be best-suited to respond to the FOCA survey, that will be sent to all Association executives in later June. We look forward to your input! FOCA's Operations Continue In light of the ongoing pandemic, FOCA continues to abide by the Ontario government order related to the closure of non-essential businesses, and has transitioned our staff away from our Peterborough office to physically distance. We are carrying on serving our members digitally, during regular business hours. Our contact information is here. You can still leave phone messages, although email inquiries may be addressed more rapidly. _______________ Staying in Touch Please encourage fellow members and waterfront neighbours to provide their consent to receive monthly Elert messages like this, from FOCA.
