What does your Association do for you?
Your directors are all volunteers who donate their time and energy to the West Bay and vicinity cottage community well-being. Your current directors assist/perform the following activities.

AED (Heart Difibrilator)
- Fundraiser underway to purchase an AED for our West Bay Dock fire shack.
- Our vision is for groups of families and/or campers will purchase AED's for their camps.
- Holds hands-on AED training sessions for interested campers
Fire Protection
- Maintain fire shack. Ensure fire fighting equipment is operational and available for immediate use.
- Hold hands-on fire training sessions for interested campers
- Provide members with educational information on fire prevention
Roads/Parking Lot
- Occasionally these areas are trimmed with the weed eater.
- Has a member on (or attend) the local road’s board, to ensure that our interests with respect to Panache Lake Road are considered
- Maintain area around parking lot, monitoring trailer and car parking.
- Pay annual taxes for parking lot.
Dock
- Coordinate and actively monitor the collection of dock fees from the public and also from campers who have not paid their membership.
- Pay annual dock insurance
- Pay annual water lot taxes.
- Maintain area around dock, monitoring boat launching. Occasionally the area is trimmed with the weed eater.
- Maintaining signs at the dock. Ensuring the bulletin board is up to date; posting pertinent notices, newsletter and membership information for the current year.
- Ensuring that the drop box has lots of envelopes for launching/parking money deposit. Periodic collection of money from drop box.
Other
- Complete and submit annual paperwork to maintain our club as a corporation.
- Maintain MNR lease for parking lot. Land Use Permit issued annually
- Collect membership fees and issue/mail vehicles tags. Ensure all data is computerized.
- Monitor finances and purchase term deposits as appropriate.
- Write and solicit written approval on annual financial reports.
- Monitor our WPCA post office box for mail.
- Annual enrolment in FOCA (Federation of Ontario Cottagers Association)
- Directors hold periodic meetings, take minutes and follow up on responsibilities.
- Organize and send notices for annual meeting. Provide coffee etc.
- Write annual newsletter with input from all directors and others
- Work with expert members who collect and analyze water quality data. Report data to all members.
- Periodically check the reflectors in the bay and vicinity. Ensure the lighthouse at the “dock rock” is operating. Removing lighthouse in the fall and replacing in spring.
- After lighthouse has been removed in the fall; replacing with triangular reflectors.
- Participate in loon surveys.
